Financial Assistance

In 2006, we were awarded more than $3.5 million in scholarships to help people participate in programs they couldn’t otherwise afford. It’s our goal to make our programs and services available to everyone. Please call 773.777.7500 for more information or to apply for assistance.

A waiver or reduction of fees is available subject to facility and program capacity, and demonstrated need, without regard to race, color, nationality, religion, gender, age, or disability.

Income-Based Rate Scale

At the YMCA, our goal is to encourage individual health and well-being by making our programs and services accessible to all, no matter the income level. We use the Income-Based Rate Scale (IBRS)—which means our membership prices are based on your household income. Members with a household income of $55,000 or above will pay our current membership rates. Members with a household income below $55,000 will pay a discounted membership rate based on where their household income falls on the IBRS. Just bring a copy of your 1040 to the membership desk.
